Bison USA is excited to announce that we’ll be adding 37 new trucks to our fleet over the next couple of months. The first round of trucks will be delivered in November, with the vast majority being delivered in December and January. We plan on replacing all trucks in the fleet that are older than the 2017 model year. If you are currently riding in a 2014-2016 tractor, then you’ll be receiving a new unit as they come in. In total, we’re replacing 25 existing units and will be using the remaining 10 to grow our fleet!
All 37 units are 2021 Freightliner Cascadia CA116SLPs. Out of these 35, 4 will be going to the flatbed fleet. The remaining 31 will be for our van/reefer fleet. For those that are mechanically inclined, these trucks are equipped with the Detroit DD13 12.8L 400HP motor which features 1,750 LB/FT of torque at 975 RPM. The trucks feature a DT12-1750-DH 12 speed direct drive automated manual transmission, air disc brakes all around, 2.41 rears, 227” wheelbase, 200 gallon diesel capacity, Michelin X Line 22.5” tires all around, and a 116” sleeper cab.
The trucks will also feature an 1,800 watt power inverter and a dual parked battery powered HVAC system for bunk climate control. Instructions for operation of the parked battery system will be provided to each driver so it’s being used in the most efficient way. All trucks will have a PeopleNet ELD installed, and will come complete with Auto-socks for winter weather situations.
It is an exciting time to be a part of the Bison USA family as 2021 is expected to be a year of growth. Please reach out to Geoff or Zach in the maintenance department if you have any further issues regarding these trucks or trucks to come. We appreciate your hard work and thank you for keeping America moving!
